Leadership search

SaaS executive search for revenue leadership

The hires that set the standard for everyone who follows.

CRO, CCO, VP Sales, VP Customer Success, VP Marketing and VP Partnerships appointments inside venture-backed SaaS and AI companies, across the US and EMEA. The first question is always which level you are actually hiring.

Helping you hire the right level

Choose the appointment

Most senior hiring mistakes are level mistakes, not people mistakes. Open the appointment you are considering.

What they own

Sales, customer success and frequently marketing and revenue operations under one number, with the board conversation attached to it.

When it’s the right level

The right level when the problem spans more than the selling team — pipeline creation, retention and forecasting all need one owner. If it is only the selling organisation, a VP Sales is the correct appointment and costs you far less.

Evidence we look for

Which category they genuinely are: builder, scaler or fixer. Revenue owned at your stage, teams and managers built, and forecast accuracy the board actually trusted.

A revenue leadership appointment sets the hiring standard, the operating cadence and the compensation structure for everyone who follows. It is the search where a generalist process is least defensible.

Every search here starts with the level rather than the title: what this person personally has to produce in year one, and whether that is a whole-revenue owner or a functional VP.

The search

Our work and process

We do the search. You do the deciding.

  1. 01

    Together

    Requirements

A working session with you on what this leader personally has to produce in year one — before a title is fixed.

  2. 02

    Tipped

    Mapping and shortlist

We map the relevant market across the US and EMEA and approach the people who genuinely fit the level. You see progress, not silence.

  3. 03

    Tipped

    Deep interviews

One hour each, in person or on video. Not a screening call — we test the evidence behind every claim before you spend an hour on anyone.

  4. 04

    Tipped

    5–7 candidates presented

Within 10–15 days, each with a written rationale covering strengths, risks and stage fit — so your first conversation starts informed.

  5. 05

    You

    Your interviews

This is where you take over. You run your own process; we coordinate diaries, hold candidates warm, and feed back honestly in both directions.

  6. 06

    Tipped

    References and offer

We speak to former team members — the people who worked for and alongside them — then help you shape the package, land the offer and manage notice.

That’s all it takes. We carry the search; you keep the decision.

What you get in the 30-minute consultation

Free · 1:1 with the founder

  1. 01Right-sizing the level

CRO, CCO, VP or a first regional leader — decided against what this person actually has to produce in year one, not against the title on the org chart.

  2. 02What they have to own

The number, the team, the process and the board conversation, separated out so the mandate is defensible before anyone is approached.

  3. 03Compensation reality

What base, variable and equity it takes to move someone credible at that level, benchmarked separately for the US and EMEA.

  4. 04Network and access

Where I can open a conversation personally. I ran sales teams before I started Tipped, so a lot of this market is people I already know.

Then, if it makes sense

You get five to seven leaders within 10–15 days

  • Full CVs and career profiles for five to seven leaders
  • A written rationale for each: track record, level, why they fit

The boardroom questions

What founders and boards actually ask us.

Pick a question. Straight answers, no hedging.

On the table

01 / 05

“We don’t know if we need a VP or a C-level.”

That is the conversation to have first, and it is free. A C-level appointment makes sense when the accountability spans more than the selling team — sales alongside customer success, and often marketing and revenue operations. Where the requirement is to build and lead the selling organisation itself, a VP is the correct level, a different profile and a materially different package. We decide it against what the person personally has to produce in year one.
